    I had heard that houses were numbered according to when they were built in Japan, but had never heard that blocks had names there.

    I wonder if they name streets where there are no blocks.

    I suspect that’s why Americans do it that way. Most streets in America have no blocks. Just go out to rural America and you’ll find that that’s true.

    A very interesting perspective from Japan.
