I have an idea for you that might get you into those 34's a bit sooner.

When I was doing my own weight loss program and using a treadmill I also added some Kegel exercises into the routine. I would do the Kegel exercise while walking, for about 90 seconds at a time, clenching the muscles as tightly as comfortable for that period, and then taking a few minutes break.

I found after about 2 months that not only had I lost 30 pounds, but my stomach muscles seemed to be holding things in much more easily and naturally than they had since I wuz a yoot. In fact, I was getting compliments on my manly figure from people who hadn't seen me for awhile.

Give it a try, it's easy to do while walking; basically a freebie exercise with great results.

Of course, I probably don't have to mention the other benefit, heh.

I'm about 6' 1", and pretty large-framed. And just in case this is going where I think it is...I wasn't even there that night! I have an alibi!

But seriously, one major difference between now and when I had the 52-inch waist is that I carry a lot more muscle around these days. That's why I'm not sure what my final weight goal should be. But I figure when I get down to a 34-inch waist, I should be pretty close...

Congradulations on your progress Phil. Just out of curiousity, how tall are you? Just doing the rough math it would seem that if you're shooting for 34" but are still 256 at 40" then you're probably a fairly tall and or big boned person. I don't mean to pry, I guess I've been reading too much Arthur Conan Doyle recently.
