The point about increasing amplitude of economic booms and busts is interesting. Never though about it that way, but yeah … the aftermath of a superplague would sort of be the ultimate bust.

I got a more full explanation of his answer to my question. It was pretty much what I expected (He talked about it in his book, and the archetypes are in rapid flux). It did prompt m into some action of my own, and I have now decided that I am going to begin pouring over techno-geek sites to look for things that are becoming a sort of legend (as in urban/techno-legends) surrounding people’s belief in a Singularity. It should be interesting to see how many people will think that you will need a blender to perform a virtual upload, or how many people are getting ready to install “THE” AI as a god (presuming that the first one will be the only one, and also assuming that it will eventually become just that… A form of Intelligence that encompassed all there is among and from the Human world and environment, which is what Ray was referring to in his response – that our ideas of individuality are going to change radically)…

Anyway… I hope that my comments about the Army of Robot Supermen make the cut… People need to know that armies of Robot Supermen are on the menu…
