"The Neanderthal's are Abel. We're Cain."

Perhaps we're also Jacob to their Esau. The hairier hunter outdoorsman Esau was favored first by his father until his more refined brother comes and shrewdly steals the father's blessing for himself.

One of the sadder scenes in the Bible is when Esau discovers this theft:

"Do you have only one blessing, my father? Bless me too, my father!"

Of course the father had reserved nothing when he was tricked into blessing the younger son.

Interesting that a bigger brain and a longer pinky couldn't save the Neanderthal's from extinction. With those bigger brains, why weren't they smart enough to think their way out of the problems brought about by their physical type? Why not install themselves as a ruling class over the less intelligent upstarts with the prettier foreheads?

Maybe they were too nice for that. I still say we killed them off. Either directly or by eating all the game before they could get to it.

Resistance to famine and the ability to run are hardly required in today's world.

Just think, if they were able to rebirth neanderthals today, they might have no problems in today's society.

Then again, their high, nasal voices means they could only work in 1970s revival bands.
