I’m at Comic Con

By | July 21, 2011

For any Speculist or FastForward Radio fans attending Comic Con in San Diego, I’m speaking at one of the panels this afternoon.

2:00-3:00 Warner Premiere: H+ and Mortal Kombat: Legacy From producer Bryan Singer (X-Men, X2, X-Men: First Class, Superman Returns) comes a Comic-Con exclusive first look at H+, the forthcoming Warner Premiere/Dolphin Entertainment web series directed by Stewart Hendler (Sorority Row) and written and created by John Cabrera and Cosimo De Tommaso. H+ takes place in a near-future world where a tiny and stunning new piece of technology lies at the center of a dark and epic mystery. Then, Mortal Kombat: Legacy, a hit web series with over 35 million views, takes the stage for a panel discussion with director Kevin Tancharoen (Mortal Kombat: Rebirth), Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager), Michael Jai White (The Dark Knight), Darren Shahlavi (Sanctuary), Peter Shinkoda (Falling Skies), and Matt Mullins (Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight). Fans will see — for the first time — the long-awaited final Mortal Kombat: Legacy episode! Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront

I’ll be talking about during transhumanism during the H+ portion of the panel. Come by and say hi.

Got to spend some time with John, Cosimo, and Stewart last night talking about H+ (which is not to be confused with the magazine of the same title.) Their web series explores many of the same issues we’re discussing in The World Transformed. It’s a dramatic, intense, and well-crafted. I’m pleased to see these issues receive such an intelligent and thoughtful treatment, and I’m looking forward to everyone having a chance to see it.

These panel discussions are a big deal. A tent city has popped up to south of the Convention Center. It’s people in line to see the Twilight Panel. They’ve been there for three days…

Devoted Twilight fans

Also, Princess Leia is all over this place. I kinda like the cinnamon-bun, white-dress Leia, but she is nowhere to be found. It’s slave Leia all the way, baby.
