What so many people miss is that as one approaches singularity, tidal forces in the event horizon must, and will utterly dis-integrate the traveler (humanity) shortly after crossing the horizon. The traveler *can never reach* the singularity intact. We have been approaching the event horizon for many decades and may already be in it, but can't see it *because* we are in it.

Metaphorically speaking, the only way to make it through the barrier without being utterly shaken apart is to become completely socially "aerodynamic" or to use another metaphor, "superconducting". What could that mean in in practical terms? We must chose 1.)'seeking the good/increasing the benefits', otherwise all will be shaken apart.

The astonishing sadness of humanity is that there are so very very few people who grow the enlightenment and backbone sufficient to do Good merely because it *is* good. Most would scoff or chuckle and say "what is good? No one can know that."

In school, all are taught math, language, engineering, history - but I have yet to see a course on what is, and how to be/do GOOD with intent aforethought. It is astonishingly strange - and those who read this may think instead that to propose such a thing is astonishingly naive and foolish.

Good: Good for me, good for mine, good for all. Example: healthy life is Good. More is better.

Caring is good
Sharing is good
Intrinsically rewarding work is good
Kindness is good
Personal Growth is good
Trustworthiness is good
Empathy is good

see a pattern? There is no math, no quantification, no way to "unitize" good - no way to price it - no apparent "science" to it - thus, these crucial social necessities get ignored and yet without things such as this, no progress will get made - where true progress = avoiding ultimate fatility where we literally cause our own disintegration by inventing ourselves into oblivion or irrelevance by constantly eliminating "costs" where perversely, WE, the humans are always and everywhere the ultimate "cost" to be reduced.

All our striving, in every theater of human endeavor, is part of the human network. Our current level of technology and civilization is not just the product of our scientific, political, and religious heroes. Fools and villians had a role too. Without the advancements the U.S. made to wage World War II - and those of captured Nazi scientists - it would not have been possible for the United States to put a man on the Moon in 1969. We wouldn't even have tried except for our contest with the "evil empire."

The stress within society advances the human imperative: the improvement of the human condition.

We don't celebrate the villains for the good their actions require from our heroes.
